The Compliance Manager reports directly to the Quality Manager and works closely with other members of the management team. He/she is responsible for delivery of the Global Controls & Compliance program at the Hamilton Confectionery Plant. The Compliance Manager has managerial and functional responsibilities for leading and managing a group of manufacturing professionals to ensure a high level of Quality Management System and regulatory compliance in the plant. This position will be responsible for Quality Management System improvement and maintenance, coordinating Management Review, coordinating third party audits, managing the Quality Management System (QMS), complaint, and document control functions, and championing continuous improvement projects
? Be a key player in building standard work process, provide training and ensure compliance to the set standards.
? Work closely with Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and Engineering colleagues to optimize analytical performance so data is available real time.
? Investigate consumer complaints on product quality and implement programs to reduce the number of Consumer Complaints
? Oversee key quality / regulatory programs including HACCP and weight control to ensure compliance to local and corporate requirements
? HACCP coordinator: At a minimum verifies all HACCP plans annually or when required due to project changes. Lead plant bi-annual HACCP validations.
? Act as site?s QCMS / ISO coordinator. Monitors and maintains plant QCMS program by complying with current Mondelez and ISO standards and ensuring all internal procedures, processes are accurate and performing to expectations.
? In conjunction with Quality Manager, manages all internal and external inspections / regulatory visits / 3rd party audits. Lead audit preparation activities, accompany inspector, complete necessary reports and posting, perform follow-ups to non-conformances found and provide responses as appropriate. Train site on proper inspection procedure practices. Assist in ensuring facility is inspection ready at all times.
? Ensures an effective training program is maintained for all required quality / regulatory training.
? Manage quality failure system and implement programs to reduce the number of quality failures.
? Assist manufacturing in improving processes with an emphasis on defect prevention and cost reduction as well as analyzing data and trends.
? Audit processing and packaging as necessary to ensure that current Good Manufacturing Processes are being followed. Responsible for ensuring products are produced in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
? Development of recommendations to optimize existing processing and packaging systems to ensure consistent product quality.
? Provide quality / sanitation support for R&D line trials and project commercializations (Engineering and R&D). Ensure appropriate steps, forms (trial plan, A1 reviews) and approvals (change control forms) are complete to assure successful project start-up. Lead FPA process for first production runs.
? Is responsible for ensuring that relevant GMP procedures are understood and adhered to.
? Understands and follows Hamilton Manufacturing food safety systems and procedures.
? Is responsible for ensuring that all food safety and quality issues are brought to the immediate attention of the Quality Manager.
? Is backfill as site food safety team leader.
? Is a member of the quality pillar and assists in leading IL6S initiatives.
? Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor´s degree in Food Science, Quality or related.
- Min 2 years experience with Quality Management System (QMS)
- Experience supervising employees
- Work experience in functional area
- Understanding of HACCP principles, versed on Food Manufacturing GMP
- Experience with GFSI an asset.
- High level of interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills and ability to lead and participate in a multi-functional, team-based environment.Good knowledge of administrative practices and procedures.
