JOB DESCRIPTION -- RETAIL MERCHANDISING REPRESENTATIVE

Are you an independent, self-starting person looking for the right field-level promotional role? Westrow is searching for Retail Merchandising Representatives on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

Reporting to the Westrow Retail management team, the Retail Merchandising Representative is responsible for ensuring that Westrow's client base is represented to the highest level of quality and professionalism in retail grocery stores. Each representative is a key component in facilitating the movement of product through major accounts' locations in their respective market. You will cultivate relationships with key departmental contacts and ensure the highest level of customer service possible.

POSITION DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represents Westrow Food Group and its Clients within the territory
• Serves retail stores as described in the call coverage/frequency plan assigned to the territory by the Retail Manager with the objective of maximizing our Clients' sales
• Obtain, maintain and inform the company on all competitive information
• Executes and monitors clients' point-of-sale marketing initiatives (i.e. couponing, placement of signage, etc...)
• Provides retail reporting electronically using a handheld tablet device provided by the Company
• Performs any regularly assigned administrative tasks including but not limited to: monthly retail price reports, call reports, submission of timely and accurate monthly expense & call reports and providing updated pricing information
• Serves customers in a professional, courteous and effective manner while maintaining a professional appearance
• Fosters excellent trade relationships with retail store personnel as well as area departmental merchandisers/specialists
• Performs retail calls between the hours of 7:00AM -- 4:00PM, on weekdays only, no exceptions
• Is available via telephone; daily e-mail checks and response are also a required function of this position
• Attends any meetings scheduled by the Company (unless otherwise discussed with and approved by the Retail Manager)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Strong negotiation, interpersonal and independent work skills
• Demonstrates some knowledge of basic marketing principles
• Ability to manage contacts and associated relationships at the retail level -- highly organized
• Ideally resides currently within the Territory
• High degree of professionalism and credibility
• Customer focused with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent listening and communications skills
• Basic computer skills including e-mail and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc. . .)
• Must possess own vehicle and valid driver's license
• Must attend annual company conferences and any required training sessions
