Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping/Receiving Team Leader to lead our order preparation and warehousing operators. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all shipping and receiving activities, managing a team of workers, and ensuring that our products reach their destination accurately and on time. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of shipping and receiving personnel, providing clear direction, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, ensuring that stock levels are adequate for efficient shipping and receiving processes.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all products meet the established standards.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the shipping process, including packaging, labeling, and coordination with carriers or couriers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage the receiving process, inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, completeness, and quality, and coordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues.
  • Ensure that all shipping and receiving activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Implement safety training programs for the team.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve shipping and receiving processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and timely deliveries.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and Health & Safety to monitor and manage safety risks
Hours:
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Proven experience in shipping and receiving, with at least 1 year leading a team
    • Knowledge of inventory management systems and shipping/receiving software.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Forklift certification in Walkie, Counterbalance, and Reach is a must
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50lbs as required.
    • Comfortable working in various temperature and humidity conditions within the warehouse.
