Job Description

The Crump Group Inc., a large & rapidly growing pet food manufacturer based in Mississauga Ontario is seeking a dynamic, results oriented Electrician Technician (Night Shift). This is an exciting opportunity to:

As a skilled Industrial Electrician Technician Night Shift will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities to support plant operation.

Job Description:

You will be primarily responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform all planned maintenance (Preventive & Predictive) assigned in a timely manner and use Computerized Maintenance Management System to log in all planned, reactive and emergency activities
  • Repair and capture detailed root cause and countermeasures of breakdowns and communicate effectively to management and peers.
  • Ensures effective and timely on-floor support to the maintenance department members, including regular and off-shift coverage as required.
  • Assist in the on-going improvement of work order system
  • Able to troubleshoot all electronics, electrical issues including PLC related issues
  • Support the effort to develop and document maintenance procedures, one point lesson and implement a competency-based training program.
  • Works as a team member on small and large technical projects.
  • Performing breakdown analysis
  • Upgrading production lines with new equipment and/or technology
  • Working with outside contractors
  • Work in a safe manner always
  • Work effectively within the team environment
  • Complying with GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES, safety, and audit standards Working independently under limited supervision (self-management)
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
  • Completing Quality /Food Safety training and adhering to the Food Safety Pre-Requisite Programs

Recipe for Success:

  • Industrial Electrician 442A within a Food manufacturing environment
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) – 433A within a Food manufacturing environment
  • Should be able to read electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings.
  • Hands on experience, familiar with tools and equipment.
  • Communication, leadership, and paperwork skills
  • Attention to quality and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions:

Temperature and humidity conditions in the work area can vary. Outdoor work may be required and is subject to extreme hot and cold temperature conditions. Manufacturing processes are highly reliant on machines and as a result, noise levels can reach up to 115 decibels may require the use of hearing protection. Some jobs or tasks require working at heights. Some of these tasks require entry for extended periods of time. Employees will be required to follow GMP/ HACCP/ SQF policies all the time. Employee must be available to work weekend hours as needed.

Physical Requirements—The employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and / or climb stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job.
