Come join our dynamic team as a Marketing Manager. You will be responsible for management of business activities on a category-leading brand to fuel continued growth. This role helps to develop and execute against long and short-term strategies, marketing plans, communication activities, and commercialization of new products to achieve volume, profit, and share objectives. As a key member of the Canadian Marketing team, you will bring strategic focus, broad business and marketing knowledge, and a passion for the consumer to drive for results. This position will oversee and manage the seamless integration of strategies and tactics into a cohesive integrated plan designed to deliver meaningful connections, throughout the brand’s purchase journey (consumer, shopper, patient) necessary to delivery against GUM brand objectives. This position will be a hybrid position of work from our Guelph office and work from home.

In this position you will use your experience to:

  • Support the brand vision through careful execution of the design, messaging, voice, and approach of all marketing efforts.
  • Set clear vision, goals, and strategies for Integrated Marketing Communication to support overall brand goals.
  • Identify and leverage consumer and retail insights to build clear activation vision for brand with measurable strategic objectives and plans that generate profitable volume.
  • Manage integration across marketing channels with overall brand positioning, business objectives and brand guidelines. Connect dots across marketing channels to ensure they create a cohesive marketing plan.
  • Manage display and customer specific initiatives from idea generation, business case development, optimization of programs and participates in project team meetings.
  • Build relationships across functions and agency partners to foster trust and transparency.
  • Lead cross-functional planning projects, building collaborative relationships.
  • Maintain deep understanding across Activation capabilities for: Digital Media (including social), Consumer Activation, Shopper Marketing, E-comm, and working knowledge of Professional Channels
  • Manage Activation budgets and be able to identify spending mix and opportunities for efficiencies. Working knowledge of brand unit financial goals and delivery against goals. Prepares ROI analysis on recommended initiatives.
  • Develop strategy and plans for displays and special packs.
  • Actively seek out and understand new trends in marketing. Bring forward to test and learn ideas.
  • Lead new product development projects in collaboration with Innovation and Creative Service teams to expand offerings into different benefit areas.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • University Degree with a Business, Marketing or Communications Focus
  • 5+ years in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or consumer healthcare marketing experience with P&L experience.
  • Strategic capability and experience in marketing plan development; situation assessment, strategy, and tactical plan development
  • Experience creating Integrated Marketing Communication plans and integrated marketing strategies to drive tangible results
  • Strong experience in cross-functional team management, including agency management
  • Experience working with digital media and social marketing platforms as well as online search strategies.
  • Ability to understand marketing data and analysis while developing plans to adjust tactics from these insights
  • Experience in using qual/quant research and Nielsen/IRI/syndicated data to turn insights into action
  • Demonstrated project management skills and proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Success in partnering with Sales Teams and experience in leading or assisting in sales calls; solid understanding of retail channels and customers.
  • Experience in developing compelling marketing plans: situation assessment, objective-setting, strategic and tactical plan development.
