as Mango, Passion Fruit and Lychee.
Rubicon Canada is looking for an experienced Product
Specialist to expand its national reach of our current product offering while
supporting the growth of the current portfolio.
In this role as the Product Development Specialist
you will be responsible for the development of new products and product
improvements for Rubicon Beverages. The role will work directly with the leadership
and R&D teams on new product development, production scale up along with
daily execution of R&D related lab activities. The Product Specialist will
evaluate current and alternative food ingredients, create product recipes and
conduct sensory evaluation of new food products to ensure they meet customer
needs and requirements for the Canadian marketplace. The participation with cross functional teams
will be required to ensure effective resolution of technical issues and support
all product innovation.
Product Development: Developing and formulating new and
existing products for the Canadian marketplace. Execute science based technical
development and testing of beverage products from concept approval, formulation
successfully following up from bench development, sensory testing and line
Research/Ideation: Researching new products, categories,
flavors. Identifying emerging trends and applying those to new product
Product Improvement: Assessing
current formulations assessing opportunities for product and/or cost
improvements. Modify recipes to meet nutritional/quality specifications and
optimize scale up. Provides periodical assistance to QA.
Innovation: Working within the stage gate process the PDM
will collaborate with other functional areas (finance/marketing/operations)
taking products from ideation to launch.
What we need from you:
degree in Science, Food technology or comparable discipline
- 2-4 year’s
experience in CPG
Strong communication and influencing
- Problem solving ability and knowledge
of Canadian/US Food regulations
- Knowledge of the principles, practices
and regulations pertaining to food product development and processing.
Ability to motivate and collaborate
- Exceptional project management skills
- Effective analytical skills &
- Strong sense of business curiosity
- Proficient computer skills including
excel, power point
This role will be located at the Canadian head office in
Richmond Hill, Ontario once the regional lock down has been lifted.
