Job Purpose/Overview:

The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for operational execution as well as leading initiatives to drive cost and/or service improvements. This role requires solid understanding of supply chain best practices. Advanced analytics are required to support & drive ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong communication skills, conflict management, and a consumer-focused lens are key in the identification & resolution of issues in support of business objectives. All activities must be accomplished by building relationships with both internal & external partners and supply sites, establishing clear mutual expectations, and monitoring performance to targets.
The expectation is that the associate will drive functional learning & self-development, while exhibiting business leadership in achieving personal, team and cross-functional objectives

Key Responsibilities:

SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Deliver annual cost reductions. Execute against the department continuous improvement strategies to consistently deliver cost under budget and under benchmark.
  • Track and report KPI’s and ensure metric alignment with customers.
  • Supply & Replenishment activities which may include:
  • Evaluate daily & weekly production schedules generated by External Factory and/or Affiliate units to ensure sufficient supply while maximizing inventory turns.
  • Close understanding and attention to production rates, frequency and sequencing, minimum runs, site demonstrated capacity, scheduling lead times, in-transit and hold criteria is required.
  • Performance monitoring & management of 3rd party, affiliate plants, & associated packaging suppliers including 3rd party adherence to stated Mars Canada production policy, process, and SOP
  • Balance market demand with efficient asset utilization while considering impact to total cost.
DATA & SYSTEMS:
  • Act as the Functional Expert for systems which may include: TMS, SAP, Atlas, JDA, WMS
  • Lead issue resolution, testing, and performance optimization of business systems
  • New sku set-up and Variant Management
  • Maintain system integrity via master data review, cleanse and/or update
  • Optimize production planning parameters for constrained & unconstrained environments
  • Utilize analytics, reporting and benchmarking.

OTHER:

  • Responsible for following all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures

Job Specifications/Qualifications:

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • University Degree (Business, Mathematics, Engineering)
  • Designation in P. Log, APICS/CITT, or PMAC an asset
  • 2-5+ yrs Supply Chain experience
  • Planning system experience (Lean TMS, JDA, SAP)
  • Advanced analytical abilities
  • Lean Principles (Six Sigma, etc.)

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement background
  • Ability to drive core objectives to completion
  • Demonstrated Supplier/Third Party Management
  • Scorecard & metrics management
