Job Purpose

The Account Manager is accountable for delivering business segment objectives of customer volume through selling in company products, programs and promotions. They are responsible for delivering and selling customer business plans.

The Account Manager will provide customer(s) with expertise in support of growth through management of all Sales fundamentals (Distribution, Shelving, Promotion, Merchandising and Price) against annual business priorities as well as manage day to day relationship directly with account and manage internal communication needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with existing customer base to ensure continued growth and optimization of overall customer financials
  • Provide and present comprehensive tailored customer business plans to deliver all business segment objectives
  • Manages the trade promotion budget at assigned customers in harmony with Royal Canin policies and procedures
  • Forecasting sales against assigned customers on a regular basis
  • Utilizes available information to capture Royal Canin and competitive sales strategy tracking at the customer level
  • Uses all internal resources to understand and leverage customer strategies to successfully sell business segment programs and initiatives
  • Provide the customer with category information and make recommendations for all business segments, products and promotions
  • Adhere to applicable Quality and Food Safety Policies and Quality Management System requirements to ensure compliance to MARS standards
  • Demonstrate a quality culture in actions, words and spirit
  • Other duties as assigned

Context and Scope

  • Provides timely information, retail priorities and sell sheets to the retail sales organization
  • Play key role in implementing Marketing plans, and major new product launches
  • Active involvement to optimize customer service levels and efficiency in order to help minimize total delivered cost
  • Travel will be required within Canada for offsite meeting (approximately 10% of time)

Education and Technical Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent level of industry experience
  • Experience which demonstrates advanced customer management, problem solving and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • 1-3 years of industry experience in key account management or related environment
