Job Purpose/Overview

This role will develop & execute the business’s overall digital property & media strategy, for both pet owner & prescriber audiences, establishing Royal Canin as THE Reference in the online space.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Properties:

  • Step-change the brand’s online experience & performance, driving the overall planning & evolution of royalcanin.ca & vet.royalcanin.ca properties
  • Own strategy & delivery of website expansion initiatives for all drive product portfolios & strategic communications themes
  • Lead the Canadian implementation of Global projects, creating local visibility & securing appropriate resources to execute with excellence
  • Support transformative e-commerce projects, leading the implementation of “Perfect Screen” SaaS solutions, including ratings/reviews & where to buy finders
  • Leverage analytics & insight to drive ongoing platform optimizations
  • Develop & maintain quarterly KPI reporting on overall digital property performance

Digital Media:

  • Own the brand’s overall 52wk. digital media programming (SEM/SEO, OLV, display, social, content), from brief through strategy development & execution
  • Lead the implementation of Global equity building campaigns in the online space, from creative refinement through activation
  • Develop & maintain quarterly KPI reporting on overall digital media performance

Context and Scope

  • Provide thought leadership in digital & e-commerce within the business, bringing transformative plans to life through world-class expertise
  • Work closely with the Digital Content Manager, design, e-commerce, portfolio marketing, scientific & regulatory affairs teams during the delivery of initiatives
  • Interface with agency partners, US Digital & Regional E-Business teams to ensure seamless process & execution of digital programs
  • Collaborate closely with Global partners to ensure strategic alignment & high-quality execution of global initiatives

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, digital or relevant field
  • Professional certification in digital, SEO/SEM or analytics an asset
  • >5 years digital marketing experience

Knowledge/Experience

  • Exceptional digital property (UI/UX, creative, dev, QA, live process & CRM, CMS, SaaS tools) & media (SEO/SEM, OLV, display, social, content) expertise is required
  • Ability to work independently & collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working & navigating within a multi-national corporate environment
  • Comfort articulating complex challenges &/or solutions to higher management, in uncomplicated & easily supportable terms
  • CPG &/or science-based consumer brand experience preferred
  • Digital agency &/or tech experience an asset

Key Functional Competencies & Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce), CMS systems (Sitecore), product experience management (Salsify) & analytics interpretation (Google Analytics) an asset
  • Media Planning – Applies reach based media planning principles; builds outstanding working relationships with agency partners
