HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE
- Accurate & Analytical Mindset– We need your attention to
detail! In this role, you will be auditing commercial invoices, bill of
lading and purchase orders to identify and resolve discrepancies, correct
errors and ensure compliance with CBSA regulations.
- Regulatory Expertise– Are you up to date on Canadian Customs?
Your expertise will be needed as you release shipments from Canadian
Customs while working with Customs Brokers. Use your knowledge of B3’s,
COS, CCI and HS Tariff Code classifications to good use! You will also be
the primary KCI contact for any Custom broker issues related to
compliance, classification and valuation.
- Taking the Initiative – We are proactive which keeps us
competitive! You will be responsible for actively reaching out to vendors
to obtain NAFTA certificates, allowing for the claim of reduced rates of
duty and imports in support of KCI. You will also need to validate custom
brokers are applying the correct rates of duty and GST based upon Tarriff code
classifications. Be our internal auditor!
- Cross-Functional Relationships– You will be working closely
with internal and external partners in order to ensure accuracy of our
shipments. You will have the opportunity to work with a global team and
partner closely with our teams in the US and Mexico in order to share best

- High School Diploma, GED or international equivalent
- Must be Certified Custom Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Trade
- Strong experience working with import brokerage or import
department in a corporate environment
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and handle
multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities at any given time
- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex
and/or detailed information to multiple stakeholders
- Must have ability to interact with all areas and levels of the
organization and understand their impact on overall company performance.
- Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office applications
- Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent
- Food manufacturing or CPG experience
- SAP experience
