Job Description

Interested in being a part of a collaborative environment? Come join our team in Mississauga as a Foreign Trade Analyst where you will be working in a close-knit team as the point of contact for importing or exporting shipments including raw materials, packaging, premiums, samples, and finished goods (just to name a few!) You will have an opportunity to work cross-functionally and globally on projects in order to support our supply chain goals. By utilizing your strong communication skills and attention to detail you'll help us produce some of the world's most favorite products! HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Accurate & Analytical Mindset– We need your attention to detail! In this role, you will be auditing commercial invoices, bill of lading and purchase orders to identify and resolve discrepancies, correct errors and ensure compliance with CBSA regulations.
  • Regulatory Expertise– Are you up to date on Canadian Customs? Your expertise will be needed as you release shipments from Canadian Customs while working with Customs Brokers. Use your knowledge of B3’s, COS, CCI and HS Tariff Code classifications to good use! You will also be the primary KCI contact for any Custom broker issues related to compliance, classification and valuation.
  • Taking the Initiative – We are proactive which keeps us competitive! You will be responsible for actively reaching out to vendors to obtain NAFTA certificates, allowing for the claim of reduced rates of duty and imports in support of KCI. You will also need to validate custom brokers are applying the correct rates of duty and GST based upon Tarriff code classifications. Be our internal auditor!
  • Cross-Functional Relationships– You will be working closely with internal and external partners in order to ensure accuracy of our shipments. You will have the opportunity to work with a global team and partner closely with our teams in the US and Mexico in order to share best practices.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED or international equivalent
  • Must be Certified Custom Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Trade Specialist (CTCS)
  • Strong experience working with import brokerage or import department in a corporate environment
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities at any given time
  • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple stakeholders
  • Must have ability to interact with all areas and levels of the organization and understand their impact on overall company performance.
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office applications

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent
  • Food manufacturing or CPG experience
  • SAP experience
