Job Summary

The Operations Support Specialist provides administrative, technical, and specialized support for purchasing and inventory management. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager responsible for implementing tighter production control with generation of day to day production analytical/ statistical reports and implementation of WIP/Finish product inventory control. The Operations Support Specialist assists in driving process improvements and other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date reporting on all production related portfolio reports, including, but not limited to: BPCS shop order closing, weeks of inventory report, sauce inventory report, end of shift report, material variance report, sauce inventory, BPCS Material Requirement Plan (MRP 104, MRP 83, MRP 4).
  • Provides backup and performs duties as needed for procurement, scheduling, inventory control, and supply room associates
  • Reviews daily inventory and exception reports in support of procurement department.
  • Develops and maintains sauce production schedule based on requirements.
  • Develops, creates, and maintains new production control reports for business analysis, areas included but not limited to productivity, downtime records, efficiency, wastage, capacity, labor efficiency, and others.
  • Leads projects in improving data collection and in the information generation process.
  • Works with and supports plant and corporate personnel, including, but not limited to, procurement, scheduling, logistics, supply room, inventory control, finance, and operations
  • Assists in BOM accuracy by providing feedback on consumption discrepancy with BOM.
  • Assists in maintaining accurate raw material, work in process, and finished goods inventory.
  • Recommends and provides input in ERP system upgrade for better data management.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate raw material, work in process and finish goods inventory.
  • Maintains compliance with all corporate and plant policies.
  • Participates in cost reduction activities and projects
  • Processes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Analyzes and evaluates information to choose the best solution to solve problems or address issues
  • Assists with training and development of associates as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements, Skills & Qualifications

  • APICS certification or Operations Management Diploma preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing facility, food facility preferred.
  • Experience and/or education ERP system.
  • Intermediate to Advance working knowledge in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge and experience with MRP ((BPCS, Oracle preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of various computer applications MS Office especially MS Excel.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of various computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Must be able to multi-task and juggle priorities along with strong organizational skills.
