Job Summary

As a member of the Conagra Canada Finance leadership team, you will act as a valued business partner to the Brand Team and take an active role in optimizing Gross Margin by Brand/SKU. You will be a key partner in the Brand AOP and forecasting process. As a leader and a coach to a team of 4 professionals you will drive improved organizational decision making based upon value-added analysis. Your team will own a variety of financial reporting duties around Brand spend and Brand profitability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 4 professionals
  • Develop relationships throughout the Canadian business unit, with a specific focus on being an active business partner to Senior Brand Managers
  • Help to refine and recommend options to improve Gross Margin optimization
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of various brand related internal reporting, including but not limited to Brand reviews, Pillar review, SKU rationalization and monthly brand spending analytics
  • Colloaborate with Brand team to provide financial metrics for Monthly Performance Meetings presentations
  • Build insights and recommendations for monthly Brand Forecast, Annual Plan and Strategic Plan
  • Financial contribution and preparation for strategic brand decisions with a retailer focus
  • Manage P&L’s related to innovation includng the gate process
  • Key Liaison with Brand team
  • Build partnerships and collaborate daily with both Brand and FP&A teams to ensure timely and accurate performance
  • Ensure timely and effective internal control policies and procedures are in place for all applicable A&P, Packaging Design and coupon processes
  • Identify and communicate key financial and business drivers in order to influence decisions
  • Provide the Brand Finance team with formal and informal training and ongoing development while meeting team and region objectives
  • Parterning with Pricing team to support in analyzing pricing action impact to Net Sales and Margin
  • Lead Finance functional initiatives as requested
  • Partner with IT to find technological solutions that create process efficiencies
  • Member of the Canadian finance leadership team

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field with 7+ years work experience and 5+ years financial management experience, preferably in consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Previous experience in Brand/Marketing business partnering and/or FP&A is preferred.
  • CPA certification required
  • Background and experience in P&L management, along with knowledge of financial systems and general accounting concepts
  • Ability to analyze and assimilate relevant data into key financial recommendations and decisions.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, including leveraging analytics, benchmarking, and insights to generate meaningful strategies and solutions.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communications, organizational and financial skills – ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple departments to complete a project or resolve an organizational challenge
  • Proven ability to self motivate in a fast paced environment, ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment
  • Systems savvy with proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with SAP or other software tools preferred
