Job Description

Position summary:

  • Maintains data and reporting to support sales function including Team Daily Sales Report and Team Profit Template, and Team Ad Grids
  • Gathers data through multiple sources to create reports on Speed to Shelf, Display initiatives, negotiated cases , provide insights to drive Mega Brand Sales and efficiency in Retail
  • Creates and runs reports utilizing advanced Excel skills to perform complex analytics that drive insights and actionable items. Resolves outstanding issues with little or no guidance.
  • To provide key analytical support to the Senior Business Development Manager and Business Development Manager to ensure delivery against their key business metrics
  • Analyze data resulting insights to support category growth for accounts within the customer portfolio
  • Identify baseline/display opportunities, conducting post-analysis of activities and sharing best practices across the team

Responsibilities:

Retail Execution:

  • Work with BDM’s to ensure accurate and timely communication of period planners
  • Lead execution behind all innovation launches (sell sheet, distribution results, POG implementation etc.,)
  • Develop strong relationships with banner champions & regional District Sales Manager to gather feedback on execution gaps and action as needed
  • Work with customer team to confirm timing of key retail communication and cascade to retail team to maximize sales opportunities against key activity
  • Review pricing across all ConAgra & competitive brands to identify key gaps within the banners and regional market
  • Utilizes syndicated data and appropriate tools to identify trends in market share and distribution to drive the business
  • Spend 1-4 days per month in the field with territory managers, business development managers, customer, etc., to help facilitate execution against key priorities
  • Leads the analytical efforts for the team, providing development and training for the sales analysts to strengthen their skill sets.
  • Seen as field expert with corporate team. May assist corporate team/departments with higher level data gathering or problem solving

Forecasting:

  • Provide detailed ongoing analysis on baseline and promoted volume leveraging monthly Nielsen reports / Precima
  • Work with Precima/Nielsen to summarize sell through results on prior promotions to identify volume trends on key promotions
  • Manage all display ready pallet and pre-pack forecasts to ensure 100% sell through of customer commitments & on-time delivery
  • Attend bi-weekly Business Development Manager meetings to ensure better understand competitive activity and sales impact on past / future promotions
  • Work with Business Development Manager to ensure accurate reporting / explanations for monthly consensus meetings
  • Create and update complex reports using raw data

Sales Finance:

  • Maintain Trade Pro and ensure changes to deals and forecasts are entered into the system on a timely fashion
  • Maintain customer master pricing grid and work with BDMs to update for new product launches
  • Work with A/R to ensure timely resolution of deductions / issues
  • Provide timely updates to Demand Planning / Sales Finance on major changes to forecast
  • Work with Customer Service to resolve pricing discrepancies

Business Management:

  • Work with Sales Finance to update monthly reviews and cascade to other regions
  • Ensure all internal trackers / templates are complete and 100% accurate
  • Build relationship with key customer contacts to ensure package graphics are up-to-date / accurate listing database
  • Work with category management team to streamline all customer presentation decks to ensure they are “customer ready”
  • Provide “back-up” support during Business Development Manager vacations
  • Develop and maintain regional scorecard for store banner to ensure growth against warehouse investment
  • Support role in preparation and delivery of face to face customer presentations with merchandising & buyer group

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a retail sales representative, sales analystand or category analyst
  • University Degree, preferably in business administration, Finance or related field
  • Strong technical, report running and analytical abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of data entry
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization, work with multiple internal partners to discuss and prioritize work initiatives
