Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Retention:

  • Facilitate, in partnership with staffing organization and the business partners, recruitment pipeline for current openings, candidate selectionand futuretalentneeds.
  • Coordinates requisition approval process, posting process, resume management and communication with hiring manager to ensure deliverables are communicated and adhered to.
  • Conducts telephone screens and in-person interviews with candidates, schedules interviews and verifies references.
  • Provides feedback and makes candidate recommendations to the hiring managers and/or supervisors.
  • Ensures positions and job descriptions are accurate
  • Plays an active role in the onboarding process, development and training of new employees and follow up during the first 90 days of employment.
  • Tracks hourly performance reviews

Employee Relations:

  • Supports the ongoing development of highly engaged/ employee-oriented workforce with company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Serves as initial point of contact for all employees’ inquires and concerns.
  • Assists in delivery and implementation of training programs.
  • Assists in the development, management administration and communication of HR polices, programs, procedures, and guidelines to align with the company’ strategic goals and objectives.
  • As a strong player on the business team, assists in driving strategic people initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Assists in the investigations of employee complaints, resolutions and performance reviews.
  • Assists and advises line management on appropriate progressive disciplines and action plans.
  • Helps develop employee development plans
  • Plays significant role in the planning and execution of all employee events
  • Coordinates and executes recognition programs
  • Organizes and participates in roundtable meetings and employee council meetings
  • Conducts hourly exit interviews.
  • Manages and administers the Attendance Program.
  • Participated with Return to Work Plans.
  • Maintains the employee bulletin boards.

HR Projects:

  • Work on national HR projects and programs: planning and implementing projects (timelines and milestones) for key initiatives, both regional and national in scope.
  • Designand execute ad hoc reporting, conducts analysis and draws conclusions that aide in making sound business decisions.
  • Participates in market based compensation analysis

Payroll:

  • Ensures all pay rates, salaries and merit increases are properly inputted into Workday.
  • Verifies time card approvals and submits all adjustments.
  • Reviews payroll results, pulls and reviews payroll register and submits timely corrections.
  • Monitors unpaid balances on premium and generates letters regarding premium arrears.
  • Generates hourly step increase letters.
  • Complies and inputs annual hourly increases.
  • Tracks employee leaves including vacations
  • Serves as support to the payroll department as required.

Administrative:

  • Maintains employee related databases and ensures all data is kept updated
  • Enters all employee information into HRIS and maintains employee files
  • Assists in composing and distribution of various Company communications, including memos, letters and using the electronic communication board
  • Prepares corrective action letters
  • Keeps meeting minutes and distributes as necessary
  • Updated organization charts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Compliance:

  • Complies with and enforce all ConagraFoods Canada Manufacturing policies, procedures, practices
  • Complies and stays up to date on all employment laws and trends
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to support Safety of the workforce; attends periodic safety meetings as required; recommend changes to improve safety procedures

Successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Post-Secondary education in HR Management or Business Administration with minimum 3+ years in a progressive HR Generalist role. CHRP designation is strongly desired.
  • Experience in manufacturing seen as definite asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with Employee Relations and Investigations.
  • Demonstrated experience withbenefits and compensation administration, market pricing, labor law, and organizational development.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, changeina dynamic business environmentas well as conflict management and mediation skills.
  • Demonstrated experiencemanagingprojectsand problem solving.
  • Effective anddeliberatecommunicationskills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Visioetc).
  • Experience with Workday, Kronos or other HRIS.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Keen attention to detail; identifying errors and making recommendations.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Self –motivated fast learner with “A can do” positive and friendly attitude.
