Maintenance Supervisor (Food & Beverage - CPG)

Our client, a leading Food & Beverage Company, located in the Kitchener/ Waterloo area, is looking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team on a Permanent, Full-Time basis.

Reporting to the Director Reliability, the Maintenance Supervisor will provide shift supervision, work planning, execution and follow- up, trade supervision and contractor management as well as planning and execution of small capex projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide zone leadership and direction to maintenance groups to optimize their effectiveness, efficiency and results while ensuring compliance to established policies and procedures
  • Provide technical expertise in all areas of Maintenance and Engineering.
  • Provide technical expertise as well as leadership with respect to machine and line controls for the Packaging Lines.
  • Ensure that maintenance and quality standards are maintained at or above industry standards
  • Drive business goals such as equipment reliability and quality improvements and cost reduction to ensure that they are adequately measured, managed and achieved.
  • Manage maintenance activities for all production equipment and facilities in a cost-effective manner to enhance the efficiency, reliability and life of equipment.
  • Manage the execution of assigned projects to deliver improvements to the business within defined budgets, timelines and deliverables.
  • Implementation of best maintenance practices across the operations function.
  • Safety performance and other compliance requirements.
  • Management and delivery of maintenance variable and fixed costs to budget and cost reduction targets.
  • Manage the Maintenance systems by way of a robust planning and scheduling process. Maintain short and long-term schedules. Manage regular overhauls on the equipment as required for the packaging equipment.
  • Project execution within agreed schedules and budgets
  • Identification of packaging and maintenance opportunities, both operational and equipment based to improve safety, quality, cost performance
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to improve operational reliability, quality and efficiency
  • Provide coaching, direction and technical knowledge transfer to operators and staff

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree preferred
  • Experienced maintenance supervisor
  • Consumer packaging industry experience preferred
  • Experience in Assembly Line Manufacturing
