Director of Sales (Consumer Goods - Remote Work from Home)

Our client, a growing Consumer Packaged Goods company, is looking to hire a Director of Sales to join their team on a Permanent, Full-Time basis.

Reporting into the Vice President of Sales, the Director of Sales will be responsible for managing National Food, Drug and Mass accounts, across Canada. This will involve directly managing national retailers, along with managing a Broker for the Quebec region.

This role will include managing a Quebec Broker. There currently are no internal direct reports; however, there is the possibility of adding a Jr. Key Account Manager in the future as the business grows and scales.

This is a remote, work from home position. The candidate must be able to travel to see national clients, with the majority of the retailer head-offices in Toronto.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and support relationships with key customers, and drive growth with national customers to achieve yearly targets
  • Present company products and new innovation to new and existing customers
  • Accountable for retail execution of brand and trade strategies
  • Manage trade spend for promotions and trade shows
  • Monitor category trends, issues, risks & opportunities
  • Work with cross-functional teams on national account priorities, programs, selling tools, and tracking tools
  • Collaborate with VP of Sales to develop short-term and long-term account business plans

Requirements:

  • A university degree or college diploma in Business Administration, or in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years' multi-account management and sales experience from a consumer-packaged goods company or from a food brokerage firm
  • Experience calling on Loblaw, Shoppers Drug Mart, and/or Walmart
  • Strong understanding of category management principals
  • Strong understanding of financials including trade spend and profit and loss statements
