Product Marketing Manager
COMPANY OVERVIEW
For nearly 100 years, Bradshaw International has been a
leading provider of kitchenware products. Formed in 1969 as an importer of
seasonal housewares, our “family" has grown to become a leading North
American housewares supplier. We have a cross section of company brands,
licensed brands and private label brands. Currently we are seeking a Product
Marketing Manager to be based out of the Canadian head office in Vaughn,
Ontario.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting into the VP Sales & Marketing, the Product
Marketing Manager position will lead the Canadian efforts to drive product line
contributions across a variety of categories. You will have responsibility for
developing new ideas based on your industry experience, bringing products from
concept through launch, implement brand standards, and drive incremental sales
and increased profitability of existing products. The ideal candidate possesses
a unique blend of business and technical savvy; proven experience in working a
USA/corporate division with ability to 'Canadianize' corporate brand plans and
strategies; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Currently, the incumbent will have 1 direct report at this time.
The Product Marketing Manager must be able to communicate
effectively with all areas of the company including:
- Senior Management – To establish and execute category
strategies that will drive product & category initiatives
- Product Management and Development – To outline and monitor product design
and pricing
- Sourcing/Procurement – To achieve the best possible costs
and logistical efficiencies
- Creative Services – To ensure effective packaging, in-store
& digital content, and visual communications
- Sales & Channel Marketing – To educate about product
lines, category knowledge and how to sell
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be seen as the Category specialist and have a deep
understanding of manufacturing sourcing and consumer behavior in the space
- Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning
to tactical activities Main point of contact with USA organization for new
product development, brand strategies, and representation of Canadian
marketplace and needs
- Build and leading schedules and timelines for new product
development within a cross functional group. You will lead meetings and be
responsible for assessment & communication of NPD schedules and risks
related to development.
- Develop and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan,
working with all departments to execute, including manufacturing partners and
sales force roll out.
- Execute a 3-year category strategy and pipeline by using
market research, product research, product testing, pricing and competitive
analysis, while delivering on measurable KPIs including sales, profitability
and efficiency objectives
- Specify market requirements for current and future products
by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and
non-customers.
- Support Sales sell-in and sell-out efforts in the category
by participating in key customer business reviews and strategic planning
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3+ years of product management/development
experience preferably in the CPG space.
- 2 years in proven experience writing a brand plan.
- Kitchenware/Cleaning/Bakeware knowledge greatly appreciated.
- Bachelor’s Degree or other 4-year degree from an accredited
college or university in a relevant field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including advanced Excel
& PowerPoint
- Track record of creating and executing plans for company
brands, licensed brands and private label
- Strong leadership and project management skills in order to
manage multiple project timelines simultaneously while working with cross-functional
teams.
- Great entrepreneurial mindset, high comfort level working at
a rapid pace and good at prioritizing
- Strong analytical skills in using data to make sound
recommendations affecting business decisions and results
- Strategic thinking skills and proven experience generating
original ideas.
- Problem solver that works through to solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with
the ability to deliver presentations in small/large audiences.
