Job Description
As part of the Talent Excellence team within the People and Culture function, the Change Management Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the success of enterprise initiatives by increasing stakeholder engagement and employee adoption. This person will focus on the people side of change – including changes to business processes, systems and technology. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management plans and end user training that maximizes employee adoption and minimizes resistance.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Apply a structured methodology (ADKAR) to lead change management activities.
    • Delivers change management processes and tools that are simple to understand and can be widely applied across the organization.
    • Leadership/Sponsorship Alignment: Guide and coach leaders and project sponsors to encourage active, visible sponsorship throughout the lifecycle of the project.
    • Change Assessment:Work with teams to assess change readiness. Identify risks and issues related to Change Management and identify resolution/action plans.
    • Stakeholder Impact:Proactively work with project teams to identify and assess stakeholders in context of change being introduced. Anticipate and manage stakeholder change readiness and resistance challenges and execute mitigation strategies. Activate a network of change champions within the business to support the execution of the change.
    • Communications:Develop communication strategies in partnership with Corporate Communications to support the project. Interact with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and translate the information into change activities. Draft communications as required.
    • Training:Create the training plan to maximize end user adoption and usage of systems and processes. Engage with technology vendors and subject matter experts to design training courses and job aids to support implementation. Deliver train the trainer or end user training where necessary.
    • Integrate change management activities across multiple, complex, large scale change initiatives that are occurring in the business simultaneously.
    • Track and report issues.
    • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.

    Job Requirements

    Skills and Qualifications

    • BA/BS in HR, Psychology, Organizational Development, Adult Education or related field, preferred.
    • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process; Prosci Model (ADKAR) certification is an asset.
    • 3+ years experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
    • Experience applying a structured methodology for change management on a mid to large scale project
    • Background in, or understanding of adult learning methods, training needs assessment and training design.
    • Experience designing and delivering systems training, job aids and procedural documentation.
    • Strong presentation or training facilitation skills.
    • Exceptional listening and communication skills – both written and verbal.
    • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences, at all levels within the organization including the senior leadership team.
    • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
    • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
    • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
    • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics.
    • Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
    • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.

    Physical Requirements / Other

    • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
    • Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods of time.
    • Primary work environment is professional corporate office.
    • Ability to travel as needed, nationally and on short notice.
