Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Reports to the Manager, Commercial Accounting and has overall responsibility for ensuring the financial integrity of the sales promotional activities, marketing and other SG&A expenses in all lines of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experience in preparation of monthly journal entries under tight month-end deadlines.
  • Analyze assigned financial accounts on a monthly basis and prepare corresponding account reconciliations using Blackline.
  • Ability to work comfortably with large data sets.
  • Provide supplementary & ad-hoc reporting / analysis as required.
  • Identify process improvements for existing month-end close process & reconciliations, execute and deliver the same.
  • Provide required information and explanation to auditors during interim and year-end audit.
  • Partner with various individuals within finance and the business to improve control and efficiency.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of Policy and Procedures to enhance Internal Controls.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Project work as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Three plus years related experience in commercial accounting
  • Completion of an accounting designation, or nearing completion
  • Past experience with US GAAP or IFRS and internal control frameworks such as NI 52-109 or SOX.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of JDE 9.2 (or similar ERP financial system), high level of knowledge relating to MS office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
