We are currently recruiting for a detail
orientated, problem solving, team player who is self-motivated and goal focused
to fill the position of Quality Control & Assurance Technician based out of
our Jackson-Triggs Okanagan Production Facility.

Winery is a full-service operation from harvest through to final distribution;
operating year-round and producing some of the industry’s most awarded wines.

The Quality Control Lab is a fast-paced team
environment where staff are involved in quality checks throughout the process
from vineyard samples, to finished goods in storage. Our lab mission is to
ensure quality from grape to glass.
The Role:
The production Quality Control & Assurance
Technician performs inspections and analysis at various stages throughout the
production process to ensure necessary quality requirements are met in our
products. Additionally, this role is also responsible for daily monitoring and
testing of our effluent system, a crucial facility system necessary in the
production process.
Your key responsibilities and duties are as
follows:

Analysis of samples
- Preparation and standardization of analytical reagents
- Inspection and testing of ingredients
- Inspection and testing of components
- Inspection and testing of production processes to ensure compliance
to requirements
- Calibration and maintenance of instrumentation
- Monitoring and measurement of production processes for compliance
to specifications
- Monitoring and measurement of the effluent stream and coordinating
with Maintenance on system adjustments

Reporting analysis in a timely manner to Laboratory Manager,
Winemaker, and Production Manager as required
- Internal Auditing to monitor compliance to ISO9001: FSMS, and QMS
- Complete paperwork of measurement and monitoring activities
- Reporting and documenting of activities and results
- Record keeping demonstrating compliance to QC standards
- Identify opportunities for improvement to quality in production
packaging
- Investigation, troubleshooting and problem solving where necessary
- Maintaining the lab in a clean organized manner
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a technical/scientific field.
(Chemistry, Microbiology or Food Science would be preferred)
- 1-2 years previous experience in a similar role considered an asset
- Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail
- Results orientated with an ability to prioritize
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Candidate must be hands on, dependable, and self-starting
- Good problem-solving abilities along with basic logistic skills
required
- Ability to understand and perform mathematical calculations
- Teamwork and customer service skills
- Working knowledge with various computer software programs
(Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work shifts/weekends
- Physically capable to lift up to 20kg periodically
- Physically capable to spend most of the day walking/standing
