Job Summary

The Plant Supervisor role is primarily accountable for the domestic co-packing (3rd party service) to support Niagara Falls Operations ensuring Arterra Wines Canada specifications are met, as well as support other regions for RM and FG’s. Accountable for co-pack finished goods meet customer timelines, quality and cost objectives. Other duties include Procurement of Glass for Niagara Falls Commercial Winery and managing the Logistics of Outbound Finished Goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute purchase orders for delivery of material to meet lead times. Purchase quantities balancing cost in relation to minimum order quantities. Maintain inventory stock avoiding added inventory carrying cost. Complete weekly MRP reports to ensure long term forecasts are covered. Work with Planner Scheduler to ensure packaging deliveries are on time for scheduled production.
  • Maintain close and cooperative working relationships with suppliers and co packers ensuring prompt delivery of packaging material/Finished Goods to avoid an out of stock situation with supply. Work with Transport Supervisor to coordinate deliveries.
  • Execute scheduling all off-site secondary packaging work orders within respect to the Planner’s bottling work orders. Responsible for BOM updates at all domestic co-packing locations. Responsible for annual physical counts at all domestic off-site locations. Accountable for inventory control of all packaging and finished goods at all domestic co-pack locations
  • Reconciling finished goods to Work Orders daily, weekly and monthly. Ensuring Work Order Completions are correct across in house and co-pack sites.
  • Work on Continuous Improvement program with the Operations Team. Look for ways to help improve processes to leverage efficiencies. Need to maintain financial metrics as per annual budget.



  • College or University Degree in Operations Management preferred.


  • 3-5 years comparable experience

Certifications or Designations

  • Health and Safety Level 1
  • Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience on JDE or SAP an asset

Working Conditions

  • Experienced in Procurement with Strong Logistics support.
  • Attention to details for managing inventories is a must.
  • Flexible to adjust to changes in forecasts.
  • Fast Paced environment that requires a keen sense of urgency to react to business needs as required.
