The Organizational Development Manager is responsible for leading the planning, communication and implementation of organizational development programs including, performance management, culture survey and diversity, inclusion and belonging. They will also support the development and execution of employee and leadership development solutions that are aligned to the company’s People strategy and long-term growth plan. The OD Manager will lead Arterra’s annual process coordination of all key talent planning activities and works with business partners and stakeholders to identify priorities and ensure talent strategies align with key objectives. Recommends solutions and actions accordingly with key member involvement. Contributes as a SME and a key member of the Talent Planning & Development and broader P&C teams.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Management and Talent Review:

  • Leads the design, development and delivery of performance management program and process through identification of best practices, consultation with various stakeholders, development of supporting training or tools, and benchmarking program effectiveness.
  • Leads the annual performance management cycle for the entire organization with involvement and in collaboration with key stakeholders across the COE and business partner team and by providing SME, guidance, training and facilitation.
  • Research talent management / planning trends and best practices and act as a subject matter expert to stakeholders within People & Culture and business leaders.
  • Partners with the Shared Services team and leads the integration of key talent processes into systems and leads the development of dashboards and reporting
  • Leads the planning and implementation of ongoing leadership assessments, succession management and competency integration initiatives.


  • Facilitates webinar and in-class sessions of key leadership and cultural programs and team offsites (DiSC, Courage to Lead, Development Workshops)
  • Is a subject matter expert and business partner for Talent & Organizational Development. This involves partnering with the People & Culture Business Partner team and leaders in the business to educate and celebrate Arterra’s Development programs including company-wide communications on changes/updates, partnering with leaders to conduct needs assessment analysis and designing solutions

Culture & Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DI&B)

  • Support the planning and execution of the DI&B survey and the organizational culture survey which includes question review, partnering with vendors and organization of all logistics necessary to execute survey
  • Support the DI&B council-attend monthly meetings, support logistics, materials, communications of DI&B issues and education
  • Support communications and the creation of presentations, as needed, for status reports, executive updates, meetings, annual planning, etc
  • Research best practices and stays up-to-date on current DI&B trends
  • Supports and executes cultural strategy with communications and education
  • Collaborates with BP team to support leaders with survey results and action planning

Leadership & Other Responsibilities:

  • Supports the broader Talent & Organizational Development team
  • Provides oversight to more junior employees within the immediate team and across the COE
  • Proactively participates in team events and meetings. Is a key contributor to creating a positive team environment and supporting leadership
  • Provides change management support to talent initiatives as required

What you bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or closely related field
  • 6-8 years experience in organizational development and/or talent management
  • 3-5 years experience in designing or delivering talent management programs to senior level audiences
  • Experience in leading mid-large scale org wide projects and programs
  • Deep experience in talent management practices (performance, succession, career pathing etc.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives is an asset.
  • Knowledge of adult education and learning design principles
  • Knowledge of change management principles
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, high profile initiatives and competing priorities
  • Strong consulting and influencing skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Knowledge of project management practices
  • bilingual French and English a strong asset
