Job Description

Arterra Premium Spirits, a new division of Arterra Wines Canada is building a high-performance sales team in Canada.

The National Sales Director will have an established record of building premium spirits brand equity with customers and delivering on sales execution standards, brand building initiatives and financial goals.

Responsible for leading and mentoring the Premium Spirits team to ensure financial targets are met and are gaining maximum brand exposure within On Premise and Retail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the National sales team to deliver/exceed planned sales targets by setting priorities and objectives, overseeing sales effectiveness, and monitoring monthly performance. Conduct quarterly territory reviews with each region to align on prioritization of accounts and key opportunities within each region. Identify areas of risk and opportunity to delivering the plan and develop tactics to mitigate the risk or leverage the opportunity.
  • Manage expenses and trade marketing budget to stay within set targets. Forecast annual and monthly volumes.
  • Develop prestige account target lists, ensure the team is driving distribution in these accounts and track all account activity, working cross-functionally to ensure deadlines are met
  • Coach and mentor sales team, working with them in their regions, visiting customers, ensuring brand building programs and success routines are executed, leveraging best practices across the country, and identifying training opportunities required.
  • Ensure best-in-class consumer experiences that bring to life the uniqueness of our brands by effectively presenting & promoting the brands through trade and consumer events, staff education, sales calls, spirits dinners and tastings.
  • Build premium spirits capabilities in order to expand the portfolio and grow our total premium spirits business with the addition of new distribution opportunities.


Education: Bachelor’s Degree (MBA is an asset)

Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in Premium Spirits account management

Qualifications, Certifications or Designations: WSET 2 – Wine and Spirits (WSET 3 preferred)
