The Manager, Solutions Delivery is responsible for defining technology solutions that enable/enhance business capabilities or resolve business challenges. Working in a highly dynamic environment, the Manager, Solutions Delivery will demonstrate independence and a bias for action. The Manager, Solutions Delivery will collaborate with functional business owners and end users to determine requirements, needs and design solutions, including participation in new projects, ongoing maintenance, and system testing. You will participate in new development, maintenance, ongoing support and testing to ensure that the systems technically and functionally meet the business community’s needs.

What you will be doing:

Functional & Technical

  • Gather and document the end–to-end delivery of IT solutions that meet customer needs within established enterprise architectural standards and policies by:
    • Review the requirements for any customer requests in conjunction with Solution Manager to determine the impact on/overlap with existing solutions or new solutions identified on the IT delivery roadmap
    • Utilize leading business process modeling techniques to facility requirement elicitation, process analysis and user experiences including process reengineering to delivery business value. Recognize existing potential systems opportunity to provide advice and guidance.
    • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation (process maps, business requirements, functional requirements, design specifications, use-cases, etc). Support project stakeholders as the authoritative voice for these artifacts during the project
    • Determines the integration with other processes and systems and defines the interfaces and ensures consistency with established data/information standards
    • Accountable for the quality of solution for the delivered product by project team, including testing, and ensure business sign off. Must be a team player with positive attitude and take ownership and follow through on tasks.
    • Work with solution developers to resolve issues on assigned solutions
  • Provide input and assists with vendor management by:
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and translate the functional business requests to technical specifications, providing input during RFP process
    • Liaise with business clients and vendors to monitor customer satisfaction with the solution
    • Support escalated issues on assigned solutions between the business and IT / vendor
    • Gather details related to project change requests that affect scope
  • Work within the application standard Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes to develop software applications and solutions in response to business requirements including any change initiatives
  • Create any technical documentation for all design aspects
  • Provide support to solution development and testing teams
  • Participate in tier 3 application support activities including incident management and supports the assessment and delivery of application upgrades and patches

Customer & Stakeholder

  • Consult regularly with clients to determine their needs and develop plans for improved service delivery
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture team on the solution design to ensure it conforms to enterprise architectural standards and future roadmaps
  • Liaise with Project Manager / Delivery Coordinator (internal or external) throughout the solution development lifecycle.
  • Participate in project steering committee meetings as an IT representative

Operational Excellence

  • Abide to policies directly impacting the development of application functionality used to manage and administer application security and access
  • Recognize and validate existing and potential systems opportunities to provide advice and guidance
  • Participate in application of standardized change management procedures to migrate applications and fixes/patches/upgrades from development through User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to production

Financial Stewardship

  • Meet service delivery objectives
  • Review progress, scope, time or cost changes as relates to the solution delivery; escalate severe problems and inform business and solution manager of any impact on business’ requirements

What you bring:

Education

  • Completion of a diploma in Computer Science, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent

Experience

  • 3-5 or more years of experience on JD Edwards ERP Applications, with experience in Order to Cash, and at least one other functional area: Plan to Make, Procure to Pay, Finance.
  • Knowledge of Hubble (Insight) software an asset.
  • 5+ years of related work experience with a background in analysis, design, and development of corporate systems’ architecture. Must have an excellent knowledge of the principles, practices, and standards of the Systems Development Life Cycle
  • 2+ years of project, solutions, processes in a complex business environment
  • Business and IT solution design and development experience is preferred

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of systems development and the systems development life cycle (SDLC) process
  • Experience at gathering requirements and analyzing solution needs to meet objectives
  • Experience with working with diverse, distributed teams
  • Experience with multiple, industry standard, structured, and agile methodologies
  • Leadership, problem solving, interpersonal, and oral/written/presentation skills to lead the analysis, design, and development of enterprise business solutions across multiple platforms
