Job Description

Arterra Wines Canada is Canada’s leading producer and marketer of award-winning, globally recognized Canadian and imported wines. Jackson-Triggs Estate Winery is currently recruiting for an energetic Event Coordinator. The ideal candidate has experience in the hospitality industry, with wine knowledge being an important asset. Our chosen candidates must be energetic, personable, upbeat and responsible. Candidates must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establishing client base through prospecting, answering inquiries in timely fashion and upselling existing events.
  • Accurately produce and review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and banquet event orders
  • Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients. Entertain clients in accordance with established company and estate policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain client files and update information as and when needed in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow up with guests regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
  • Overseeing setup, execution, & closing of events
  • Custom designed menus/maps & signage to work within the brand imaging
  • Assist with the execution of monthly themed, daily executed public food and wine pairing to ensure profitability
  • Assisting with billing & accounts receivables for internal & private events
  • Act as manager-on-duty and oversee staff and operations
  • Any other duties assigned by estate managers

Job Requirements:

  • Smart Serve Certification
  • 19 years of age or older
  • Ability work well within a team-focused environment
  • Motivation to exceed sales targets
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Ambitious and goal-oriented
  • Retail experience is a must-have
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Previous serving experience would be an asset
  • Fluency in French, Chinese, Korean or Japanese would be considered an asset
  • Wine knowledge an asset but not necessary as training is provided
  • Must be available to work on evenings and weekends
