Job Description

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting both corporate communications and brand PR priorities. The role will be responsible for managing AWC’s media mailer process and liaising with both wine and lifestyle media. They will also manage MRP and weekly and quarterly reporting for both corporate and brand PR results. As part of supporting CSR initiatives, they will be required to build strong relationships with key partners across the business. This role is based at the Arterra Wines Canada headquarters in Mississauga and reports to the Managers of Communications & Brand PR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with key stakeholders across sales and marketing to update the “media mailer’ calendar and workback schedule. Responsible for the timely and concise delivery of media mailers across the country. Manage reactive media requests e.g. bottle images, winemaker interviews, tasting notes etc. Conduct daily media monitoring and update MRP for monthly reporting on results and trends in media scores + reviews.
  • Work closely with Manager Comms and Manager brand PR to support various internal and external initiatives. Cultivate strong working relationships with internal business partners and develop a good understanding of all functional areas of the business Understand program objectives, KPIs, audience and messaging to support the building of content, media lists and as required execution of events.
  • Support the Manager, Communications with the coordination and execution of a national CSR strategy and plan. Including reporting, content development, event coordination etc. Build relationships with a variety of external stakeholders including charity partners, community stakeholders, industry associations and local media.
  • Regularly monitor internal email ( + ( and triage, respond, share emails as required. Support Manager, Communications and Brand with proactive/reactive media relations.


Education: BS/BA degree in communications, public relations or journalism

  • Experience: 1-3 years in communications/publication relations role.
  • Preference to candidates with: Internal communications experience.
  • Experience in food industry or beverage alcohol.

Qualifications, Certifications or Designations

  • Proven project management experience
  • Strong writing/editing skills
  • French speaking capabilities. (asset)
