The Brand Manager, West role is a key position within the Marketing team. The position is responsible for a portfolio of some of Western Canada’s largest Okanagan wine brands including Sumac Ridge, See Ya Later Ranch and Black Sage Vineyard.

The successful candidate will inspire agency partners and cross functional teams in the strategic development of their portfolio including brand strategy, communications, go-to-market, and innovation. They will also oversee creative, media and promotion execution for the portfolio. The successful candidate will have deep experience in full P&L management and be able to work closely with their operations and sales counterparts to deliver targeted growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develops and executes all aspects of brand management for portfolio or category of brands, including strategy, positioning, pricing, advertising / media, promotions, and P&L management, with a keen eye to ongoing portfolio management.

Works closely with their cross functional peers to ensure seamless integration and execution of consumer-led strategies (Insights, Sales, Customer Marketing, Finance, Operations)

Monitor and track performance and adjust plans accordingly to ensure delivery of business commitments.

Inspires and manages strong agency relationships with an impressive roster of partners in creative, design, media and PR.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field (MBA an asset)
  • Experience: 7-10 years marketing and/or comparable experience with a recognized Tier 1 consumer packaged goods company, or similar caliber (e.g. retailer or other industry)
  • Experience in leading diverse, cross functional teams, working on complicated projects.
  • Experience with briefing and leading creative development and assessing creative and media plans
  • Passion for the Consumer
  • Creative and innovative
  • Resilient and persistent, comfortable with ambiguity and managing through adversity
  • Strategic and analytical with the ability to draw actionable conclusions from multiple data sources.
  • Financial Acumen
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Bilingual (French and English) an asset
