The role encompasses a broad range of
productivity including market and sales support, some travel, hospitality,
customer service coordination, sales reporting, trade show coordination, POS
support, JDE management of export claims expenses, and the tracking of budgets,
as well as press coordination. The ability to be flexible,
resourceful, cultivate relationships and work collaboratively is essential to
support the sales division and achieve sales, profit and objectives. You will
be the go-to person for most support materials for the Export team as well as export
support for internal and external stakeholders and your respective coordinators
at Arterra.
Responsibilities:
Sales Support
- Attend (by conf call) weekly
calls with sales division and customer service to review sales plan,
market initiatives, opportunities, review quarterly forecast and
outstanding issues.
- Manage invoicing within JDE
- Manage Export customer needs
– samples, packaging, product information requests, and tech sheets
- Work with AWC and customer
trade marketers to provide various POS support, including tasting notes,
sell sheets, etc. You will be the ‘go-to-person’ for all support
materials
- Liaise with Arterra Customer
Service to ensure a stream-lined process; to provide support and direction
as required; manage and communicate product shortages, custom documents,
freight inquiries, etc
- Contribute to sales reports
as required
- Manage new customer set ups
and pricing.
- Maintain customer database
to insure timely and accurate information.
- Assist to develop new or
improved global solutions to address any sales management challenges or
make the current process models more effective
- Coordination of export trade
shows (typically three-four per year); includes stand development,
product/POS ordering and shipping (including proper documentation/forms),
and general staffing requirements
- Manage the Ontario Land
border duty free stores; providing updated price lists, and ensuring
orders sent to customer service; track orders and sales
- Manage the federal
governments Canadian Embassy and Consular Affairs business; coordinate
with Ottawa to facilitate orders of Arterra Wines for embassies and
consulates around the world; send updated price lists and track orders
received and sales
Marketing:
- Direct liaison with industry
bodies. Overall responsibility for all communication, coordination of
trade events, PR activities, tasting both local and in market.
Ensure timely updates and annual calendar are routed.
- Track budget and provide
quarterly market update against plan, including remaining POS and MAP
updates/deadlines. Ensure timely distribution of brand material.
- Collection and storage of
all updated brand information, including brand plans, tech notes, sales
sheets, etc
- Collecting, archiving and
communication of international public relation publications, media hits
and activities. Compile and distribute bi-annual coverage report for
International. Coordination with AWC and trade partners’ PR teams as
required
- Identify sales/customer
needs, gaps/opportunities and work closely with Marketing teams to
leverage domestic collateral
- Coordinate activities with
our external partners/agencies; work with sales and customers to implement
regional activities.
- Assist in maintaining global
brand standards and resource material
- Understand market
restrictions and requirements
- Facilitate with Studio and
Digital Marketing to incorporate international initiatives and
requirements. Communicate relevant information, opportunities and
project status
Hospitality and Incentive trips:
- Manage all export-related
hospitality requests, distributor visits in conjunction with in- market
Winery/Facility Guest Events Coordinators.
- Work with AWC Marketing,
Winemaking, Educational and PFW teams to develop and cascade educational
programs/material for in market. Fully utilize and communicate AWC
resources
Portfolio Management:
- Work with Marketing to
leverage, evaluate and implement new brand/line extension/concepts and
specific Export initiatives. Also ensure global requirements are
considered and regular updates of project status and launch plans are
communicated fully.
- Manage the AWC internal
process and work with production facilities to ensure on time completion
- Communicate all packaging,
portfolio changes.
- Ensure products meet
country/customer labelling requirements
- Provide updated Vintage Transition
calendar
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree
required, with a focus in marketing, communications, or a related business
field preferred
- Minimum 2 years in Marketing
or comparable experience with a minimum 1 year wine marketing experience
- Proven ability to contribute
to marketing program execution: Strong project management skills and the
ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, consistently delivering
high quality results
- Proven ability to ‘get it
done’!
- Professional client service
manner, responsiveness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Solid oral communications
and writing skills, with demonstrated ability to help create marketing
collateral
- Thrive in a face paced,
deadline driven environment
- Strong PC skills,
particularly Excel and PowerPoint
PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS/OTHER:
- Should be able to lift 40lbs
on occasion.
- Work in a normal office
environment.
- Must be flexible in work
style and schedule; occasional evening work will be required as the nature
of many of our customers are based overseas.
- Ability to travel
occasionally and stay overnight as business necessary
