Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a detail oriented, dedicated and hardworking individual to fill our role of Accounts Payable Representative.

The Accounts Payable Representative will be responsible for the day-to-day accounts payable function (i.e. invoice entry, purchase order matching, payment approval review and audit, payment processing, and tax processing, etc.) for all Canadian operating companies and foreign subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate invoice processing including intake, vouchering, document retention and monitoring of supplier terms, discounts and payments as required. Responsible for ensuring timely response to all internal and external AP inquiries.
  • Enforcement of Purchase Order policy, ensuring that all required receipts and approvals are obtained and that expenses and taxes are recorded in compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate invoice pricing or receiving discrepancies, building relationships with internal and external contacts to resolve issues ensuring escalation where required. Proactive reconciliation of supplier statements to keep accounts in good standing.
  • Review and maintain accuracy of supplier master information ensuring information changes or corrections are requested per company procedures in a timely manner.
  • Reconciliation and balancing of journal entry batches, supplier, GL accounts and subledgers as required.

Qualifications

  • College or University Degree Accounting, Business Administration
  • 2-3 years’ experience in accounts payable
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • designationProficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to plan and organize work independently ensuring a high level of attention to detail
  • Initiative and results oriented and able to collaborate and build relationships across various teams and with internal and external customers.
