Summary

As the Marketing Manager for our food portfolio you are a strategic thinker who will be responsible for managing all aspects of marketing in a professional and efficient manner. Through exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills you will develop, implement and manage the SunRype branded food category, and identify new product innovation opportunities.

To be successful you are a quick thinking, goal-oriented individual who has the drive to achieve results in a rapidly changing fast paced environment. You manage and problem-solve complex business, operational and consumer issues. You are a key player in executing marketing plans through category development and product, promotion, pricing and packaging strategies. By keeping abreast of the Canadian grocery and consumer packaged goods industry, you will translate changing consumer trends and attitudes into actionable business building strategies.

Key Activities:

  • Develop and implement the branded food category and product level marketing strategies;
  • Lead cross functional teams as it pertains to the category portfolio on projects including involvement from sales, trade marketing, communications, R&D, QA, manufacturing, procurement, logistics and finance;
  • Develop new product strategies and contribute to the innovation pipeline;
  • Develop and execute advertising and promotional programs consistent with category marketing plan;
  • Work with agency and other marketing group members to establish measurable campaign and program objectives and monitor performance;
  • Adapt and develop retail pricing strategies at the New Product Development (NPD) gate document level (targeted price points vs competition);
  • Work with other marketing group members and strategic partners to develop/adapt and execute packaging strategies;
  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies and creative for category;
  • Manage and administer category and department budget;
  • Maintain understanding of competitive market, consumer trends and attitudes and the grocery industry.

    Education and experience:

    • Must thrive as part of a dynamic, transparent team that is continuously looking for ways to grow the business and improve on processes;
    • Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, or other related degree (a major in Marketing preferred);
    • 5+ years’ related marketing experience.

      • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation and reporting skills;
      • Self-motivated, passionate and innovative thinker;
      • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
      • Capable of planning, organizing and prioritizing multiple and simultaneous projects and assignments;
      • Excellent business acumen;
      • Strong computer literacy, ability to work with databases;
      • Demonstrated leadership experience leading cross functional teams;
      • Ability to engage and communicate with employees across the organization;
      • Grow and develop relationships with key stakeholders (agencies, customers) at all levels.
