Job Description

Location: Mississauga, ON

Reports to: Sr. Brand Manager

Department: Marketing

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing the marketing diffusion plan, including historical analysis to make recommendations, innovation launches, budget management and communication with cross-functional team to drive sales of a brand or product segment.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Develop and execute the marketing diffusion plan with the support of a cross-functional team
  • Bring new products to market that drive incremental sales
  • Brand lead on annual budgetary process, including identifying key priorities, building blocks and budget presentation inputs
  • Track and analyze product trends, innovations, stylist needs and competitive activities to support future product and program development and adjust strategy as necessary
  • Build brand equity with trade and consumer targets
  • Create an annual promotional calendar and manage bi-monthly promotions to ensure they meet or exceed forecast
  • Diligently manage brand support budgets for all marketing activities related to assigned brand(s)
  • Ensure strong merchandising tools are implemented in stores and salons
  • Work closely with Education and Sales Departments to ensure key strategies are being executed in the field
  • Liaison with global and USA team for strategic alignment, new product innovation and promotions.
  • Monitor and measure product life cycle and propose SLIM recommendations
  • Analyze business performance and work closely with forecasting lead to ensure accuracy

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing or related field with accountability for a brand or business unit

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of salon, retail and/or chain environment
  • Specific knowledge of the professional salon industry, competitors and trends is an asset
  • Advanced skills in insight development, analysis and strategic planning
  • Advanced budget and project management skills
  • Strong skills in developing and delivering effective presentations
  • Advanced level computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

EDUCATION

  • University degree in business or related field
  • MBA and/or specialization in marketing is an asset
