National Retail Sales Manager, Consumer Health

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is directly responsible for delivering profit and revenue targets in our consumer health business by leveraging a strong sales acumen to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including retail accounts, brokers and CSO.

Your drive, ability to influence, and entrepreneurial spirit will be essential to continuously improve upon Purdue Pharma’s activities and performance. You will need to make clear and executable recommendations to the organization to accelerate business development and optimize execution. All this must be accomplished with a laser focus on ROI and profitability, and adherence to budgetary targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic direction, planning and oversight of Consumer Health national sales, working with account, broker and CSO partners to achieve annual objectives.
  • Development and execution of sales plans to deliver short and long term volume, revenue, share and profit targets.
  • Comprehensive business analyses and managing all aspects of the assigned portfolio including problem solving to drive sales.
  • Supporting organizational objectives and working towards achieving outlined goals.
  • Identify and develop new channels/accounts for incremental sales opportunities.
  • Inform team of customer-specific initiatives and recommend and implement those initiatives to drive growth.
  • Provide strategic direction to broker representation and CSO.
  • Work with Broker/CSO to present and list new Consumer Health product launches.
  • Coordinate the development of trade promotional activity on an account specific basis with Broker.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to implement national promotions to drive profitable volume.
  • Forecast sales targets by account through annual planning process and revise throughout the year.
  • Establish sales expense budget and trade spend targets during annual planning process and adhere to plan.
  • Develop presentations, including business reviews for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform quarterly reviews with Broker and devise corrective actions to close business gaps to plan.
  • Provide “value added insight” to the organization about key customers.
  • Capture knowledge of trade activities (competition, trends, performance, etc.) within consumer health and disseminate to team.
  • Involvement in Trade Shows/Conferences/Meetings (may include weekends).

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • University degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years CPG/OTC progressive sales experience
  • Experience selling into national retail channels
  • Strong influencing skills and superior executional capabilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills at all levels.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with proven capabilities of implementing new approaches, breaking convention, and thinking differently.
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate priorities.
  • Ability to develop strategy and execute against plan.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize work load and manage time successfully.
  • Sound decision making abilities.
  • Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
  • Results driven, dedicated, outgoing and a team player.
  • Proficient PC skills: Microsoft Office.
  • Travel 20-30%
