The Brand Manager leads in the management of
their assigned vendor partners and all aspects of their products including
brand vision, brand position and brand plan. They
will serve as a strategic business partner and are responsible for
understanding the Principal’s business, promotions and pricing strategies.
The Brand Manager is tasked with the success of
their Brands and they must focus on developing a brand’s top and bottom line
for the brand itself and Planet Foods.
The Brand Manager must have an
analytical and critical thinking mindset, this is vital for success in this
role. They require excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, superior
Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint and strong attention
to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Work collaboratively with Brand Principals to
generate and present for approval Innovation and Promotional Plans that will
achieve client objectives with regards to Canadian distribution
- Meet with Brand Principals to define and set
- Work with Sales to execute brand initiatives.
Monitor, analyze and track key metrics and apply to programs.
- Develop and communicate forecasts internally as
well as to the brand Principal.
- Perform regular analysis of competitor’s brands
to liaise and negotiate with Principals regarding price, product, promotion and
- Negotiate cost agreements with suppliers that stay
within the company’s margin, guidelines and policies in order to ensure Planet
Foods profit recovery.
- Work collaboratively to
ensure efficient execution and communication on all product launches, line
extensions and discontinuations.
Qualifications and experience:
- College or University degree preferred
- Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills
- 5 years of CPG Brand Management or Key Account experience (natural/organic
preferred). CPG is essential.
