Cluster Business Development Manager
The Cluster Business Development Manager will lead the effective planning and execution of change as it relates to new and existing products, packaging and processes for the Canadian biscuit cluster. In this role, the Business Development Manager (BDM) will also build change management and innovation management capabilities at the plant level.
The BD Manager will partner closely with the Cluster Strategy & Innovation Leader to develop long term plans for the cluster through plant roadmaps, and the development of strategic projects, investments, productivity programs and quality improvement initiatives. The plant BDM ensures functional linkage to HQ-based Business Development functions and owns the plant relevant components of commercialization projects.
Responsibilities include: Implements and maintains best-practice leadership structures for the execution of change projects in the plant Develops project leadership / management capabilities in the East York & Scarborough plants with the operations team Ensures appropriate resourcing for all change projects in the East York & Scarborough plants and supporting functions outside of the plants (HQ BD, R&D, Corporate Quality etc). Ensures methodical discipline for leading change projects. Leads personally the execution of complex change projects and coaches and supports other project leaders running change projects in the plant Shares project execution learnings across the Oreo; WireCut; Kids; Graham, Premium, Nutter butter, Dad's, Ritz and other brands networks. Keeps up-to-date about project execution experiences in other plants and integrates relevant learnings in own plant Ensures appropriate tracking tools for all change projects of the plants (consolidated for all projects of the plants and detailed for each individual project). Utilizes Il6S (IIM & FI) tools to standardizes the project execution and change management systems across both plants Provides manufacturing perspective to HQ-based leaders during the development phase of the commercialization project Ensures full compliance with the i2M commercialization procedure during execution of the project Ensures structured follow-up and communication to stakeholders during project execution and escalated potential risks during project execution Keeps project execution team active until all project objectives and projects are formally closed Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Food Technology TPM/Lean experience is preferred Very good understanding of end-to-end processes in the manufacturing and business environment Excellent knowledge of commercialization process (I2M) Excellent project leadership / management skills Good knowledge of technical and financial aspects of the business Good level of know-how and 4-5 years' experience in food manufacturing processes Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal and Written) Must be a team player, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
