Job Description

Location : Toronto, Ontario

Reporting to the Regional Manager Central Region, the Retail Area Manager will work to promote the Lindt brand by managing operation costs and achieving budget sales while providing leadership, support and direction to Retail Store Managers within the Greater Toronto Area.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for providing support to Retail Store Managers on the following:
-Managing the operations of Retail Outlet Boutiques
-Acting as a resource to existing Retail Store Managers in the region for matters related to product information, merchandising standards, operations guidelines, inventory control practices
-Ensuring consistency in standards on company process, policies, procedures, merchandising principles, selling strategies and position responsibilities.
-Ensuring pricing and promotion consistencies across all stores align to corporate guidelines
-Assisting with the opening of new Outlet Boutiques in the region
Responsible for Developing the Sales Strategy to achieve and exceed sales by:
-Upholding the values of exemplary customer service through modeling of behavior and establishing appropriate guidelines.
-Strategically maintaining product assortment to maximize sales
-Developing sales strategies to increase transactions, improve average transactions and increase basket size.
-Developing corporate sales program for the area and retail locations
-Identifying promotional opportunities and key partnerships to drive traffic
-Oversee the implementation of merchandising initiatives and promotional activity at the stores while maintaining brand presentation standards and increasing brand equity.
Ensure inventory management principles are upheld to:
-Ensure stores have appropriate inventory selection to maximize profitability
-Oversee store inventory ordering practices to optimize labour and shipping costs and to minimize risk of short dated product
-Proactively manage and prevent inventory shrinkage
Responsible for overseeing the growth and development of all retail store employees in the Area including:
-Performance Management – accountable for supporting the development of all team members to ensure they have the necessary tools and support to successfully complete their job responsibilities
-Identifying high potential team members and preparing them for future progressive career opportunities
-Manage the performance plans and employee relations issues within region.

Qualifications

-5-10 years retail store management experience. Previous experience managing locations in a multi-unit environment is a strong asset
-Post-secondary education in hospitality, retail or related discipline
-Strong oral and written communications skills
-Ability to manage time effectively
-Ability to work with minimal supervision
-Excellent attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills
-Computer literacy in Microsoft, Excel and Outlook
-Knowledge of POS system
-Experience in merchandising and presentation of premium products along with highly developed customer service and selling skills
-Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities
-Ability to use tact and discretion when sensitive situations arise
-Must have driver’s license and access to a vehicle
