Role Overview

As a Director, Marketing Brand Build and Innovation, you will be responsible for the consumer-focused brand strategy and innovation strategy for your categories, Coffee and Cheese, including iconic category leading brands such as Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Cracker Barrel Cheese, and Maxwell House Coffee. This includes leading the strategic development and execution of integrated communication plans and the innovation strategy and 3-year innovation pipeline for your brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business situation and brand objectives into consumer-focused brand strategy including marketing strategic framework and brand foundations to drive brand equity and share
  • Oversee consumer insight driven marketing briefs working collaboratively with Consumer Insights and Business Building Teams
  • Work collaboratively with Consumer Insights Team and agencies to align on consumer centric creative ideas, integrated communication plans, and creative execution
  • Work collaboratively with media agency and Business Building Team to develop 360o media plans
  • In partnership with Consumer Insights Team, evaluate performance of strategy and executions to understand their effectiveness in meeting objectives and adjust as necessary
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams (Global counterparts and local Business Building team, Consumer Insights, R&D, Operations, Sales and Finance) and external agency partners to leverage the power of a strong multi-faceted team
  • Bring progressive, non-traditional thinking to creative development, creative production and media placement to optimize efficiency and make a significant impact in the consumer environment
  • Lead and oversee long term innovation strategy focused on platform ideas to deliver revenue and profit targets from insight to strategy and from concept to commercialization
  • Lead creation of 3-5 year innovation pipeline including leading cross-functional team to validate new product concepts, establish manufacturing approach, design product and packaging, determine pricing strategy and customer sell-in, and verify financial feasibility
  • Drive and optimize innovation process culture through adherence to key innovation routines and rituals; Monthly Innovation Steering Committee, Innovation Stage Gate Process, Regular cross functional project team meetings etc.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Marketing and Product Commercialization Managers

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate university degree in business is required, MBA is considered an asset
  • Proven experience in core brand building role, managing large advertising and consumer budgets ($10MM+)
  • Proven track record leading breakthrough innovation from ideation to execution
  • Strong aptitude and savviness in the digital media landscape
  • Proven marketing award winner
  • Demonstrated leadership, drive for results and superior execution
  • Highly creative, superior communications skills, including verbal, written and presentation working both internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of consumer behaviour and motivations
  • Resiliency to deal with ambiguity and lead through change
