Regulatory Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity in Toronto on our Research & Development Team for a Regulatory Analyst. This role is responsible for the label and claims information on retail and foodservice products.

The individual will be involved with finding creative solutions to regulatory challenges involving product labels and claims. As well as being the being the Master User of Campbell's internal software for managing ingredients, formula's, packaging and label information.

Following are the principle accountabilities of this role:

Label Development (50%):
- Creates and approves label information for retail and foodservice products
- Ensures accurate ingredient statements and conducts detailed allergen review
- Determines label nutrition facts panel and nutrition claims
- Works directly with Marketing and R&D to create innovative claims that highlight product attributes
- Communicates with federal regulatory agencies to resolve label issues
- Reviews and authorizes labels for final printing
- Reviews and approves formulas for production
- Approves ingredients used in Canadian formulas

Regulatory Service (20%):
- Member of the Copy Claims Review Committee
- Works with Marketing and Legal to provide perspective on the compliance of our selling and advertising materials
- Provides information on product attributes
- Creates and updates nutrition and claims databases
- Tracks Health Check and Sodium information
- Maintains database of label notes and label mechanicals
- Tracks labels for compliance of claims with finite time limits and comparative label claims
- Responds to non- compliance issues

PLM Master User (20%)
- Represents Campbell Canada on Global PLM Team
- Drives decisions for Canadian organization on PLM
- Trains employees who are required to use the PLM system
- Trouble shoots the system

Government Regulations (10%):
- Participate in trade association working groups
- Represent Campbell Canada on emerging regulatory issues affecting our business
- Works with government officials and regulatory leads from other companies
- Develops policies for Campbell Canada
- Monitors competitor products and submits complaints to government agencies when there is non-compliance to regulations

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

- B.Sc. (Nutrition preferred)
- 5 years related work experience in regulatory and product development
- Proficient competency in Product Development and in creating product formulas
- Experience with software used to manage ingredients, formulas, packaging and all label information would be an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
