Job Description

Warehouse and Distribution Manager

Our client, a leading Consumer Goods company located in the Kitchener/ Waterloo area is looking to hire a Warehouse and Distribution Manager.

The Warehouse and Distribution Manager will be responsible for leading and coaching members of the Warehouse team to maximize warehouse efficiencies, quality, order integrity, and schedule attainment while ensuring compliance to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe and cost-effective management of the distribution of full goods to all points of distribution nationally, including compliance to applicable local, provincial and federal laws and regulations
  • Responsible for the safe and cost-effective management of all aspects of the warehouse operation including inventory control for materials and finished goods, product age and rotation and in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager - product hold management.
  • Responsible for all order make up and order fulfillment, supervision of staff and safety administration for the warehouse facility.
  • Ensure the efficient movement of freight in and out of the onsite and remote warehouse facilities.
  • Work closely with existing Third-Party Logistics Provider to ensure maximum effectiveness of delivery routes
  • Management of off-site remote warehouses consistent with internal company policies and procedures
  • Ensure warehouse and distribution compliance to standards
  • Maintenance and development of space layout and flow of product in the warehouse to maximize efficient operation
  • Management of skid locations to maintain proper product age rotation
  • Management of dock doors and dock times to ensure production schedules and delivery times are met
  • Performance of regular inventory counts for finished goods and packaging materials in accordance with company or customer requirements
  • Daily maintenance of records on inventory activity to ensure inventory integrity
  • Development of a budget on warehouse operating activity and regular variance reporting of performance versus budget
  • Manpower resource requirements planning, staff supervision, scheduling, vacation and work hour approvals.
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations and administration of all reporting requirements

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Education in the Logistics Field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in warehousing and distribution including minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Must have intermediate computer skills.
  • Available to be contacted while running a 24/ operation
  • Organized, able to manage multiple tasks, excellent communication skills,
  • Solid understanding of safety and regulatory requirements
