Channel Marketing Manager, Foodservice Channel

Our client, a leading Consumer Goods Company, located in Markham, ON is looking to hire a Channel Marketing Manager to lead the Marketing Strategy for their Foodservice Distribution Channel on a Permanent, Full-Time basis.

Reporting into the Marketing Manager, the Channel Marketing Manager will be responsible for working with stakeholders in planning and executing the marketing activities to drive and increase profitable market share in the Foodservice Distribution channel.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy:

  • Lead responsibility for Canada in the development and execution of the Foodservice Distribution Channel marketing strategy through customer needs and industry trends/research

Product, Price, Promotion, Placement:

  • Proactively develop and execute channel and customer promotional activity as required to create channel demand
  • Liaise with U.S. marketing colleagues on joint product and/or promotional initiatives
  • Liaison with the other stakeholders in sales and marketing to provide direction on channel and customer pricing based on competitive and market price benchmarks
  • Lead the creation of merchandising materials in support of the channel including sample requests, sales collateral, etc

Channel Expert:

  • Interact with customers and communicate feedback regarding channel needs to improve customer experience and retention
  • Serve as point of contact for sales team relative to channel supply

P&L & Budget Management:

  • Product and Channel P&L management focused on methods to deliver long-term results
  • Ability to establish, execute and manage budgets for channel related marketing activities

Positioning & Marketing Communications:

  • Create, maintain, and communicate positioning strategies while working with management, operations, engineering, sales and customers
  • Develop, manage and maintain all channel marketing communication elements that help differentiate the company’s positioning from competitors within the Foodservice Distribution channel

Forecasting, Production & Supply:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Analyst on needs in the assigned channel related to forecasting, production and supply

Other:

  • Attend key trade shows and conferences to understand the needs of customers and market trends
  • Other marketing project related duties as assigned

Experience:

  • 2 – 5+ years marketing experience, with preference to experience in the Foodservice Distribution channel or in Consumer-Packaged Goods
  • Completion of College diploma or University degree in marketing/business, or relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc
  • Valid Passport and ability to travel in North America.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple project priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
