POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Marketing Director, International Canadian Blends (ICB), this role is responsible for the strategic development & management of assigned brands nationally which is critical to the delivery of continued growth of the ICB portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the strategic development and execution of consumer-focused marketing plans across portfolio of brands to achieve fiscal plan and drive market share. Leverage consumer & shopper insights.
  • Manage all brand equity and consumer awareness building initiatives on a national basis (Media, PR, Consumer Tastings & Events). Challenges the status quo to deliver breakthrough programs.
  • Briefs and regularly communicates with outside advertising agencies and promotion houses in the development of ongoing campaigns.
  • Develop and execute marketing initiatives for both the retail and on-premise channels that promote effective merchandising and support of assigned brands.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Sales, Customer Marketing, Agencies, Operations, R&D, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal) to assure timely execution of all programming.
  • Identify new product opportunities and market research required, and manage the new product development process to ensure timely launch while delivering on revenue and profit targets.
  • Develop and recommend pricing & promotional strategy for assigned portfolio of brands, with support from Revenue Management team.
  • Conduct regular competitive reviews. Provide updates on portfolio and take initiative to delve into areas of risk and opportunity with solid recommendations and plan of action.
  • Manage brand budgets effectively with no overspend.
  • Accountable for delivery of Brand performance targets in market (profitability, share, equity) as agreed to with Senior Manager.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A strategic mindset and strong bias for action, success leading and motivating internal cross-functional teams and external agency partners. Proven desire and ability to think creatively coupled with strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
  • 5+ years experience with relevant brand experience and a proven track record, preferably in the beverage alcohol industry or in consumer packaged goods.
  • Marketing experience with domestic brands vs. adapting international brands preferred.
  • University education with a preference for a business degree. MBA a consideration but not essential.
  • Experience in new product development and packaging restages with related consumer research.
  • Experience briefing and leading creative development and assessing creative as necessary.
  • Strong understanding of a P&L.
  • Strong project management skills. Excellent listening, communication & presentation skills
