The Category Analyst supports the development of customer and client sales growth strategies by providing insightful analytics and shopper insights that support a mutually beneficial growth plan. The Category Analyst interfaces with customers, various members of the category management and customer development teams. The Category Analyst works to develop category review, prepare new item presentations, provides assortment and promotion analysis, and handle ad hoc requests.

Position Summary

The Category Analyst supports the development of customer and client sales growth strategies by providing insightful analytics and shopper insights that support a mutually beneficial growth plan. The Category Analyst interfaces with customers, various members of the category management and customer development teams. The Category Analyst works to develop category review, prepare new item presentations, provides assortment and promotion analysis, and handle ad hoc requests.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Data Collection

  • Source data from syndicated, customer-specific and/or market resources
  • Meet specific needs of requesting party by determining appropriate data selection and custom assortment as directed by supervisor

Data Analysis/Interpretation/Application

  • Quantify, analyze, and interpret data
  • Evaluate the reliability of source information by weighting raw data and organizing results for analysis
  • Create excel templates utilizing raw data

Project Management

  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines

Presentation Development

  • Organize information into presentation format by studying, analyzing, interpreting and classifying data

Presentation Delivery

  • Assist the management team as needed by participating in presentations to answer any questions regarding the data and data analysis information

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct Reports
    • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports
  • Indirect Reports
    • This position does not have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level:(Required):Associate's Degreeor Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of syndicated data and applications
  • Analytical and research Skills
  • Understand legal regulations within category management and work within compliance guidelines
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Ability to ensure a high level of service and quality is maintained

  • Ability to work effectively with management
  • Ability to develop and present category strategy growth opportunities and recommendations to key accounts.

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

Rattaché(e) au Manager, L’Analyste de Catégorie intervient en support à l'équipe de vente et développement client en fournissant des analyses pertinentes relatives à la catégorie et la typologie des acheteurs dans le but d'assurer la croissance de l'entreprise. L’analyste doit travailler en étroite collaboration avec les clients, l’équipe managériale et l’équipe de développement client. Vous serez en charge de développer les analyses de données, préparer les présentations sur les produits nouveaux, fournir des analyses concernant la variété et l’assortiment de marchandises, et conduire diverses requêtes ad hoc.

Descriptif du poste :

Collection de données

  • Rechercher des données en provenance de sources syndiquées, orienté clients et/ou du marché
  • Effectuer et coordonner les analyses, en réalisant une sélection de données pertinentes afin d’avoir des informations plus détaillées concernant la performance des produits par catégorie
  • Créer des macros Excel en utilisant les données brutes

Synthèse / Interprétation / Diffusion

  • Quantifier, analyser et interpréter les données
  • Évaluer la fiabilité des sources d’informations de données brutes et organiser les résultats pour effectuer les rapports d’analyses

Gestion de projet

  • Préparer et consolider différents projets tout en respectant les délais

Présentation & Développement

  • Préparer le matériel et l’information pour les présentations ou autres événements // Collecte, synthèse et diffusion de données d’informations

Présentation

  • Support/Soutien pour/ à la réalisation des présentations concernant l’analyse de données quantitatives

Qualifications :

  • Niveau d’études : (Requis) : Diplôme d’études collégiales dans un domaine connexe ou expérience équivalente.

Profil recherché :

  • Familiarité avec les régulations légales dans le domaine de la gestion de catégories et les directives de conformités
  • Agilité dans la manipulation des données et outils informatiques
  • Excellente capacité d’analyse & de communication
